YouTube Description
as posted by the channelJoshua Byers, 26, voted for Trump because Trump promised no new wars and cheaper groceries. Now Trump has launched a war in Iran that has killed 13 American service members — and wholesale inflation just came in twice as high as expected.
Donald Trump's 2024 campaign was built on two promises to young voters: no new wars and an end to inflation. Within sixty days of taking office, he had broken both. On February 28th, Trump launched airstrikes on Iran. Iran struck back. Thirteen American service members are now dead, including Capt. Cody Khork, Sgt. Declan Coady, Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor, Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, and Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington. More than 1,500 Iranian civilians have also been killed. Simultaneously, wholesale inflation came in more than twice as high as expected, directly worsening the cost-of-living crisis that drove young men to vote for Trump in the first place.
The human cost of this reversal is visible in the data and in the faces behind the numbers. CNN polling analyst Harry Enten documented a 24-point swing among men under 25 — Trump won this group by 5 points in November, and now holds a negative 19 approval rating with them. Enten attributed the collapse to cost of living and inflation. But as this video documents, the war and the economic pain are not separate stories. They are the same extraction operating through two different mechanisms. The war destabilizes oil markets and supply chains. Prices spike. Young voters who were told they were getting peace and prosperity got the opposite of both.
Joshua Byers said he feels betrayed and doesn't want to vote anymore. Lilly Burrow said she is not happy. Faith Peavey asked why Trump was attacking countries he never mentioned during the campaign. These are not liberal critics. These are people who handed Trump the margin he needed to win — and are now watching their votes get cashed while their promises expire. This video names the victims, documents the broken promises, and connects the war dead to the economic pain in a way the mainstream coverage has failed to do.
