Marjorie Taylor Greene vacated Georgia's 14th Congressional District after feuding with Donald Trump, the man she spent years defending on the floor of Congress through two impeachments. He just endorsed Clay Fuller to take her old seat. Fuller and Democrat Shawn Harris — a retired Army brigadier general — advanced to a runoff after no candidate cleared 50% in the March primary. The runoff is April 7. Six days.
GA-14 is one of the safest Republican seats in Georgia. MTG held it since 2021. She built her entire national brand there — screaming about the deep state, storming committee hearings, making herself the human embodiment of the MAGA movement. Now her own district is in play. Not because Democrats moved in, but because the civil war MTG helped start is fracturing the Republican base. Shawn Harris has been endorsed by Pete Buttigieg, Mary Trump, VoteVets, the Georgia AFL-CIO, and the National Education Association. Trump is backing Fuller. MTG is backing no one.
This is what happens when you build a machine designed to destroy — eventually it comes for you. MTG spent four years feeding Trump's movement, sacrificed her congressional seniority, and left Congress thinking she would level up. Instead, she handed her seat to a race where a Democrat now has a legitimate shot at winning. Trump endorsed her replacement without blinking. The oppressor got eaten. The runoff is April 7.
