They brought in Dean Cain — the Superman actor — to sell it nationally. Doug, a 68-year-old retired Ohio cop, believed her. He applied, was sworn in, and spent weeks training with a 400-page classified manual. Then just after midnight on Day One, he got a one-paragraph email: offer rescinded. Too old. When he filed his EEO complaint, he discovered DHS is sitting on more than 10,000 identical claims. The reason: Noem never had the authority to lift the cap. It was an HR rule — not a Secretary-level decision. The policy was never real. The machine treated its own recruits exactly the way it treats everyone else. Noem has since been fired by Trump. You're paying for the lawsuits.
