In December 2025, the United States put him on a plane and deported him, not to Cuba where he was born, but to Mexico, a country he's never lived in.
And here's the part that makes it unforgettable: his entire family — his wife, his kids, his in-laws, his 82-year-old mother, all U.S. citizens — voted for Donald Trump in 2024.
In his words: "My entire family voted for Trump, but we didn't know this was going to happen." In 2024, a record 68% of Cuban-Americans in Miami-Dade backed Trump. Since then, more than 4,300 Cubans have been deported to Mexico.
