Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House — and last week they used all of it to send themselves home early for the second straight week. A dozen hardliners led by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna seized the House floor, blocked the defense bill, and humiliated Speaker Mike Johnson, all to force a vote on a voter-ID bill their own Senate leader admits can't pass.

Meanwhile, the largest housing affordability bill in decades — passed 358-32 in the House and 85-5 in the Senate — sits unsigned because Trump is holding it hostage to the same dead bill. Here's what their circus is actually costing you.
