Day 1 of the NATO Summit in Washington brought interesting comments from the top defense ministers of what Politico calls Europe’s most vulnerable countries. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania seem to be betting on Trump by echoing his stance about countries that don’t spend heavily on defense and in one case, likening NATO to a golf club membership. Meanwhile, President Biden gave a strong speech in support of Ukraine. During the next few days, his focus will be assuring NATO allies that he remains robust and ready for the job ahead.
Presidential historian and political analyst John Rothmann will join us to talk about the goings on at the NATO summit and more.
“It’s the Planet, Stupid!” with our eco-journalist Belinda Waymouth takes the pulse of the environment. She’ll look at the need for an international agreement on plastics, the likelihood that water will become more scarce and a new push to recycling clothing.
