Jackson Hinkle, an American, a self-proclaimed political commentator, flew to Tehran on the 4th of July, America's 250th anniversary, and got on a stage in front of a pro-IRGC crowd to lead chants of "Down with USA" and "Death to America." On the 4th of July. In Iran. Leading those chants. This is not a complicated story.
For years, people like Hinkle have built massive platforms by dressing up anti-Americanism in the language of America First. They'll tell you they're the only ones who can see through the propaganda. They're just asking questions. They're just against endless wars. And the moment you push back, you're a neocon shill, a brainwashed establishment puppet. But there is a line between criticizing your government, which every American has the right to do, and flying to the capital of a regime that has used "Death to America" as the literal foundation of its political identity, and performing for them on your country's birthday. That line exists. Hinkle crossed it.
I break down who Jackson Hinkle actually is, what he actually did, why the "America First" brand was always a costume, and why there is a fundamental difference between being anti-war and being a useful idiot for the IRGC.
