Congress gave almost $200b in aid to public and private schools and while many school districts are offering summer programs, they are typically not available to all students and don’t include enough instruction to fully catch kids up.
Certain states like Virginia offer a learning recovery grant for tutoring and summer enrichment programs.
31 states have spent at least half of the money they were allotted, but states and districts haven’t even spent half of the third round of funding that expires next fall.
