Trump administration calls on Supreme Court; argues lower courts wield 'excessive influence'

The Trump administration is urging the Supreme Court to address what it perceives as an overreach of power by lower courts, following a series of rulings that have impeded its policy agenda.

The appeal stems from a nationwide ruling that blocked President Trump's executive order to end birthright citizenship for children born in the U.S. to parents who are in the country illegally or on short-term visas.
