'Open the Books' reveals Department of Education's ongoing audit shortcomings

As lawsuits move forward to stop President Donald Trump's executive order to dissolve the Department of Education, Open the Books is taking a closer look at the department.

Rachel O'Brien, who is the deputy public policy editor at OpenTheBooks.com, joined The National News Desk’s Angela Brown for a one-on-one interview Friday to discuss the findings.

Every time Open the Books does an investigation on the federal agencies, the Department of Education always comes up high on the list of those needing reform," O'Brien said. "It failed it's third audit in a row."
