Congress hopes to push Putin to negotiating table with crippling sanctions

Senators are pushing an effort to enact a new round of crippling sanctions on Russia to pressure the Kremlin to make concessions and meaningfully engage in peace talks to bring an end to the war in Ukraine as talks led by the White House have yielded little progress and fighting continues to escalate.
