Trump's trade tactics could boost markets despite tariff threats, former WH advisor says

President Donald Trump on Wednesday morning said he plans to announce trade deals with at least seven countries, with more set to released later in the afternoon.

Earlier this week, Trump threatened to impose reciprocal tariffs to levels set in April if some countries did not strike a trade deal with the first payment, which is due August 1.

Every time Trump talks about new tariffs, the [stock] market comes down,” former Trump White House Economic Advisor Steve Moore told The National News Desk's Jan Jeffcoat. “But on the other hand, Jan, every time he announces a trade deal with one of these major countries, the stock market goes up.”
