It is also a historic investment in healthcare, as it gives $50 billion to transform access for families in rural areas.
Dr. Mehmet Oz, who is the administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, said he is “very excited” about the opportunities the bill has created.
He said he’s heading to Colorado Springs this weekend to speak during the 2025 National Governors Association to outline the steps they need to take in rural areas.
“Every one of the governors has an opportunity to pull down some of this money,” Oz said during a one-on-one interview with The National News Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat Friday morning. “We want all the states to benefit. And all this happened because we took out the fraud, waste and abuse within the American Medicaid system within the one big, beautiful act.”
