Deportation flights from Alligator Alcatraz have taken off, Gov. DeSantis says

Flights transporting deported undocumented migrants from Alligator Alcatraz to other countries have already begun in the past few days, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Friday.

During a news conference at the undocumented migrant facility located within the Everglades at the abandoned Dade-Collier Airport, DeSantis outlined Florida's ongoing efforts to address illegal immigration and improve border security.

The flights, operated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), have already transported over 100 detainees from the immigration detention center in the remote Everglades. DeSantis expects this number to rise shortly.
