The Kremlin has issued its first official statement following President Donald Trump's decision to move two nuclear submarines closer to Russia. A Kremlin spokesperson emphasized Russia's cautious stance on nuclear nonproliferation, stating, "Russia is very cautious about nuclear nonproliferation matters, and we believe everyone should be very careful about nuclear rhetoric," according to the Washington Post.

This comes as Steve Witkoff, President Donald Trump's envoy for peace missions, may travel to Russia this week as peace talks between Ukraine and Russia remain stalled. This development follows Trump's order to reposition nuclear submarines near Russia in response to social media threats from Russia's former president.
