4:11Now PlayingPrices on imported goods could start hitting us where it hurts — our weekly grocery bill.
That’s why it’s more important than ever to find ways to save.
A new Bread Financial poll shows 78% of Americans have already changed the way they shop because of expected tariffs, with more than a third are stocking up on their favorite foods now.
Smart shopping expert Trae Bodge of Truetrae.com said imported items that will likely increase include cheese, olive oil, coffee, as well as fruits and vegetables.
She also shared a few tips to help you save at the checkout counter.
“Look at those circulators that are in your mailbox, look at coupons from your grocery store app, and then look for retailors that are having sales,” Bodge told The National News Desk’s Angela Brown during a one-on-one interview Monday.
She added that delivery services also offer discounts that could help you pad your wallet.
“This might surprise you – there’s one called Instacart, who I work with. They partner with more than 1,800 retailers around the country, and they have something called ‘A Deal Week,’” she said.
“Every day that you order this week, you get a free lunch box staple. This is great for back-to-school. And then they also have exclusive discounts at many retailers. So, look for opportunities like that, as well, to save on your groceries. I think it’s important that we use all of these tactics right now.”
