Kilmar Abrego Garcia free, heads to family in Maryland amid legal battle

Kilmar Abrego Garcia has been freed from Putnam County Jail and is on his way to reunite with his family in Maryland, his lawyer confirms to FOX 17 News.

Abrego Garcia walked out of the jail escorted by officers before climbing into a white SUV headed toward his family. His release comes after months of protests and advocacy efforts calling for his freedom.
