Revised numbers show Trump inherited a far worse economy from Biden than reported by BLS

A revised jobs report shows the American job market was much weaker in 2024 than what was reported by the fired head of the Bureau Labor of Statistics (BLS).

During a 12-month period that ended in March, the revision showed 911,000 fewer jobs were added than the estimate that was given from Biden's appointed commissioner of Labor Statistics.

Steve Moore, who is Trump’s former White House economic advisor, described it as a breakdown in the ability to count the numbers of jobs that are being created.

“It’s the most important monthly number we have from the government about how the economy is doing. It’s the best barometer,” Moore told The National News Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat during a one-on-one interview on Wednesday morning.

“These numbers have been all over the place. They are increasingly unreliable. What we found looking at the revisions is that over the last 2-and-a-half years, they’ve revisited the numbers downward by 2-and-a-half million … We just want accurate numbers because it’s a good way that we determine the health of the economy. So, these numbers are not even close," Moore added.

Moore noted that there were two recent surveys conducted, including one of households and the other focusing on businesses. He said while the households survey showed 290,000 jobs created, the business survey showed about 25,000.

“So, there’s something gone wrong here,” Moore said.
