Family of DC crash victim sues American Airlines, more lawsuits expected

Family members of one of the victims joined their attorney Wednesday afternoon to announce the first of what are expected to be dozens of lawsuits related to January’s tragic collision between an Army Blackhawk helicopter and American Eagle Flight 5342.

Family members of several victims spoke at a press conference on Wednesday. Among them was the wife of 40-year-old Casey Crafton, who was aboard Flight 5342 when it collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport (DCA). Sixty-seven people died in the crash.

The lawsuit is on behalf of Rachel, as several victims' families joined the news conference on the collision that happened above the Potomac River.
