Why are taxpayer dollars going to deceased, former Medicaid recepients?

A new report from the Foundation for Government Accountability is raising serious questions about how states track Medicaid eligibility, and whether taxpayers are footing the bill for major system errors. One of the most eye-catching findings: hundreds of millions of dollars in Medicaid payments were made on behalf of people who were already dead. It’s an issue watchdog groups, including DOGE, have been sounding the alarm on for months.
