Jeffries defends Clintons for refusing to comply with subpoenas linked to Epstein investigation

House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, a Democrat, defended the Clintons as they continue to comply with bipartisan subpoenas linked to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

“I think that the Clintons are working in good faith to try to reach an accommodation with the Oversight Committee in order to sit down and offer their testimony, which is part of the reason why, in my view, the effort by [Chairman] James Comer lacks any credibility because it has always been congressional practice that if someone is under subpoena, you work to find a reasonable accommodation in order to receive their testimony,”

Jeffries said during a news conference on Thursday.

Comer, meanwhile, recommended that the U.S. House of Representatives find former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with the subpoenas.
