Louisiana federal judge orders release of four ICE detainees convicted of murder, child abuse

The Department of Homeland Security is criticizing a Louisiana federal judge who ordered the release of four immigrants from an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility, despite their criminal histories.

The detainees — Francisco Rodriguez Romero, Ricardo Blanco Chomat, Luis Gaston Sanchez and Ibrahim Mohammed — filed a habeas corpus petition arguing their re-detention by ICE was unlawful and that the government must either justify the detention or release them.
