Sen. Bernie Sanders: AI could replace tens of millions of jobs — Congress is “totally unprepared”

Senator Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) warned on Wednesday that the AI boom could be “ten times bigger — and faster — than the Industrial Revolution,” as he and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio‑Cortez push for a moratorium on new AI data centers. Sanders said the pause would give Congress time to protect workers, communities, and the environment before the technology reshapes the economy.
