Justice Department recovers $500 million, targets fraudulent hospice claims across US

Federal officials say they have recovered more than half a billion dollars as the Justice Department expands a nationwide crackdown on fraud, including cases tied to health care and hospice claims in California.

The Justice Department launched a new national fraud enforcement division this week aimed at clawing back money lost to scams. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche issued a warning Tuesday.
