What to know about the suspect in the correspondent’s dinner shooting

Authorities say the suspect is 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen, a California man who allegedly traveled cross-country and stayed at the event hotel. Federal officials with the Justice Department charged Allen on Monday with two counts of federal gun crimes and one count of attempting to assassinate President Trump. Investigators say he was armed with multiple weapons and may have left behind writings expressing anger toward government officials. Officials believe he acted alone.
