Bodycam Reveals Lavish Mansion Bought With Alleged Medicaid Fraud Money

Police body camera footage captures the moment officers search a lavish Arizona mansion prosecutors say was purchased with money from a massive Medicaid fraud scheme.

Authorities allege Thomas Heard fraudulently collected roughly $34 million by billing Arizona's Medicaid program for addiction treatment services that prosecutors say were never provided — including claims for deceased patients and toddlers.

During the search, officers expressed disbelief as they walked through the luxury home, which prosecutors say was purchased along with 40 luxury vehicles, Rolex watches and designer clothing using fraudulent proceeds.

The case is part of a broader Medicaid and sober living fraud crisis that Arizona officials estimate has cost taxpayers billions of dollars over several years.
