Report raises alarm over Chinese Communist Party influence in U.S. schools

A new report is raising questions about Chinese Communist Party-linked programs operating in American education, including an exchange initiative that researchers say has established connections with K-12 schools and universities across dozens of states.

Parental rights organization Defending Education says a program launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping has reached dozens of K-12 schools and 83 universities across 30 states. The organization behind the initiative identifies Marxism-Leninism and Xi Jinping Thought among its guiding principles, according to the report.

Speaking with The National News Desk, Defending Education's Erika Sanzi said the organization's primary concern is whether the program is being used to influence how American students perceive the Chinese government.
