Marxists and Islamists joining forces? Inside the ‘RED-GREEN ALLIANCE’

A national policy organization is raising concerns about what it describes as a growing "Red-Green Alliance," an ideological partnership between some far-left and Islamist movements united by opposition to Western political institutions despite having significantly different long-term goals.

The Center for Renewing America argues the phenomenon deserves greater attention as debates over socialism, capitalism and American institutions increasingly play out in politics, on college campuses and among younger generations.

Speaking with The National News Desk, Wade Miller, executive director of the Center for Renewing America, described the term as referring broadly to cooperation between Marxist and Islamist movements.
