When Conservative MP Imran Khan resigned after being found guilty of sexual assault, he triggered a by-election in his constituency of Wakefield - the first of the so-called ""Red Wall"" seats to go to the polls since switching dramatically from Labour to Conservative in the 2019 general election. Then, Boris Johnson promised renewed investment in the North of England, which he called ""levelling up"". Have he, and the Conservative Party, done enough to convince the voters of Wakefield to vote blue once again? Or will the cost of living crisis, Partygate and ""Tory sleaze"" put an end to Wakefield's foray into Conservatism?"
