Boris Johnson resigned as an MP over the weekend, shortly after Johnson loyalists Nadine Dorries and Nigel Adams announced they were also standing down. The moves have triggered three individual by-elections, meaning Rishi Sunak could face the unenviable prospect of becoming the first Prime Minister to lose three seats in simultaneous by-elections should Labour and the Liberal Democrats manage to overturn the Conservative majority.
