YouTube Description
as posted by the channelIn the homestretch of a president campaign, it's time to strip fact from fiction and cut through the campaign hype to see how well Donald Trump delivered on his 2016 campaign promises to voters. Given Trump's claim that the economy is his ticket to re-election, you'll be surprised which promises Trump kept and which ones he broke..
For the ideological right, he moved the Supreme Court and other federal courts to the right by appointing conservative judges. For the anti-global right, he walked out of the Paris Climate Accord and Obama's nuclear agreement with Iran. For the ultra=nationalist right, he kept clamping down on immigration and turned refugee Central American families back at the U.S. border.
But he welched on economic promises to generate 4% to 5% annual growth,, to balance the budget, to to eliminate the national debt and to bring back 7.7 million lost manufacturing jobs. Maybe you forgot those promises, as well as his promise to bring Wall street to heel.
In his three pre-corona years, the Trump economic added 6.8 million new jobs but that fell short of the 8.1 million jobs Obama produced in his final three years,. Under Trump, unemployment fell to 3.5%, its lowest rate in 50 years, but that had been set up by Obama who lowered the rate from 10% to 4.7% and handed Trump a booming economy. Wage gains under Trump were largely wiped out by inflation and a fall in fringe benefits that left average workers worse under Trump under Obama.
