Peek-a-boo policing? How can this happen?

I’ve been following the Guthrie case like everyone else—and what I’m seeing is a systemic failure of focus. Local law enforcement is coming off as overmatched and overwhelmed, and in my view, egos could be getting in the way of clean coordination and decisive progress in bringing the missing person home quickly and safely. The FBI appears to be trying to assist local authorities, but I’m not seeing meaningful progress there either. Then the news media environment pours gasoline on the current crop of challenges. The news cycle has turned a missing-person investigation into a media spectacle, and social media compounds the problem with various conjecture, theories, and noise that drown out the standing priorities. Let’s reset the frame: there’s an elderly woman missing. The mission is simple—bring her home safely as fast as possible. In this video, I provide a video (a possible parody) that satirizes the dysfunctional Guthrie response up to this point, how the media ecosystem creates a smoke screen, and why everyone involved must to cut the drama and get back to the fundamental work at hand.
