It was my pleasure to speak with Masih Alinejad, a hero who has shown courage and willpower in her fight for the freedom of women in Iran, and against the beastly clerics who rule it.
Her book The Wind In My Hair and her ongoing campaign to dismantle the oppressive dictatorship of Khameini, calls for Iranian women to protest against the country’s law of forced-hijab. The symbolic gesture is also reflective of growing rebellion in the nation that battles extremist Islamism’s disdain for basic human rights and freedoms.
We spoke about others like Salman Rushdie and Narges Mohammedi who continue to fight censorship through their work despite the risks, and about Masih’s continued efforts to meet hatred with courage.
