as posted by the channelDuring the "2019 Municipal Election" in Muncie, Indiana... Mayoral Candidate, Dan Ridenour (R), made many "campaign promises" that he has NOT KEPT... since becoming Mayor in January 2020!
However, during a debate, hosted by Ball State University on September 28th, 2019... Ridenour made one, specifically interesting promise about the YEARLY BUDGET! He said the following: "WHAT I WILL DO IS... I WILL PRESENT A (YEARLY) BUDGET TO THE CITY COUNCIL IN JULY... OF MY VISION OF WHAT I WANT TO DO... AND THEN I WANT TO WORK WITH THE COUNCIL TO HELP MAKE SURE THAT FITS WHAT THEY ARE WANTING TO DO & MAKE SURE THAT IT IS A SOUND BUDGET THAT CAN BE SUSTAINED LONG TERM!"
The issue is... he made that statement on September 28th, 2019... he then won the Election on Tuesday, November 5th, 2019... he took Office on Wednesday, January 1st, 2020... and come that first July in 2020... HE DID NOT PRESENT THE City Council with a budget for the 2021 year... he was WAY late in getting the Council a Budget they could work with... and it was a very contentious process! And it has continued that way in 2021... 2022... & 2023... (now, he won re-election in November of 2023... and it is almost sure to stay that way for the next 4 years).
This is just one more example of the MANY, MANY DIFFERENT LIES... that the good citizens of Muncie, Indiana were told by "TEAM RIDENOUR" (now called the "Dan'atics" or "Cheerleaders").
