YouTube Description
as posted by the channelDelaware County (Indiana) Commissioner Shannon Henry argues with Kristopher H. Bilbrey, a citizen of Delaware County and Host of 'The Political Spotlight,' about Bilbrey needing to get to the meetings "BEFORE THEY START... if he wants a chance to sign up to speak on the record during the "Public Comment" section of the Commissioners' Meeting!" (How absolutely insane is that!?)
The Commissioners' meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month, starting at 9 a.m. (This meeting occurred on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday that fell on Monday, January 20, 2025.) The meeting started at 9 a.m., and Bilbrey arrived approximately 5 minutes later; however, the "sign-up sheet" had already been pulled. Bilbrey sat through the nearly two-hour meeting, believing he would be permitted to speak during the Public Comment section. Seven citizens spoke during the Public Comment section, and Bilbrey assumed they had signed up. Still, like at many other governmental meetings, the public servants running the meeting would usually ask the crowd if anyone else wanted to speak that didn't get a chance to sign up. Bilbrey waited until the last person, thinking this would happen, but it did not. The Commissioners proceeded to move on with the meeting.
Right before they started to adjourn the meeting, Bilbrey spoke up, and that is when the back and forth occurred!
The fact that Bilbrey sat through the whole meeting, and Commissioner Shannon Henry still would not let him speak on the record, seems like "viewpoint discrimination!" Bilbrey had been vocal on his program for several shows leading up to the meeting about what he would speak about!
