The Political Spotlight's LIVE Stream of the Indiana State House "Courts and Criminal Code Committee" Meeting - 1030 a.m. - Wednesday, February 05, 2025. This is the second committee to hear the bill.

The point of the meeting is to discuss Indiana House Bill 1186, a bill that focuses on three unrelated Law Enforcement matters, two of which are perfectly fine. However, one of the points the bill touches on is stripping Reserve Police Officers and Tier 2 & 3 Law Enforcement Officers of their "police powers & authority" when they are not inside the town, city, or county limits of where they are employed. As Indiana Law Enforcement currently stands, most Law Enforcement Officers have statewide "police powers & authority." But if this bill passes, that will change, which won't be good! The full text of the bill can be found here. . .
