as posted by the channelIn this quick 43-minute video, The Political Spotlight's Kristopher H. Bilbrey explains how the Anderson, Indiana, Redevelopment Commission (ARC) created a list of "15 rules of conduct" for the public if they want to attend and possibly participate by asking questions.
This government body has existed for a very long time without these rules... and usually, only one, two, or three citizens attend the meetings! But one of those citizens is a former City Councilor, Rebecca Crumes, who loves to stay active and involved. She attends the meetings, live streams them, and holds this body and all others in Anderson and Madison County accountable. These rules have largely been created to try to control Councilor Crumes and possibly silence her and others!
Bilbrey attended the meeting on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, to push back against their "rules" as he believes they have a significant chilling effect on citizens' First Amendment Rights!
The key point is, the five ARC Board members are all appointed by the Mayor and City Council of Anderson. They are all appointed public servants! But what they are doing is NOT public service... it is public disservice. This is piss poor public service, and it should NOT be acceptable to anyone! Citizens must fight back against this, or it will continue to become normalized!
