Wesco's statement:
"This committee almost didn't take up this issue... but it wasn't President Trump that convinced me to do it. It was President Obama! When President Obama chose to wage a public relations campaign to urge voters in California to overturn their constitution and their nonpartisan redistricting commission, so that they could erase republican seats. It was Governor Pritzker in Illinois, whose gross hypocrisy after Illinois created outrageous looking districts to erase three republican seats in the 2021 redistricting process. I don't like these rules, but I didn't make these rules!"
