This was the first Parks Board meeting since Mayor Dan Ridenour announced at a press conference on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, that there would be NO seasonal camping at Prairie Creek Reservoir in 2026. (Many citizens believe seasonal camping at the reservoir will never return, as it has in the past.)
This was supposed to be the meeting where citizens could speak to the board and the Mayor and express themselves. However, three weeks before the meeting, city officials told many citizens the Mayor would not attend; as a result, many angry citizens stayed home.
