0:53Now PlayingThis is a short clip of Henry County Sheriff John M. Sproles delivering what he called "BREAKING NEWS" to the crew of the @BossHogofLiberty podcast (based in Henry County, Indiana) on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
Sheriff Sproles was in studio with the Hogs and three of the five other Republican candidates running for Henry County Sheriff in the upcoming Tuesday, May 5, 2026, primary election. (There are also two Democratic candidates running as well.)
Sheriff Sproles speaks up, saying, "This is going to be the place I'm going to break some breaking information. Okay. I put a video out regarding the Nick Gulley situation, putting out the facts up front. And of course, you know, it has been a wild fiasco of social media chatter, but... there has been an investigation from the highest investigating agency in... on the federal level, and it has been completed in that case. This is breaking news and it has been determined there was no wrong done. That's breaking news on your show. I'm breaking that!"
Host Jeremiah Morrell then cuts in and asks, "Which organization investigated?"
To which Sheriff Sproles replies, "I'm going to leave it at the way I... the way I stated."
Host Jeremiah Morrell then says, "Federal!? Ok."
Sheriff Sproles then says, "Yes. Because that's the way they requested me to leave it."
Guest Host (and, ironically, elected Henry County Councilor) Betsy Mills then speaks up and asks, "Sheriff, when was that decided?"
To which Sheriff Sproles says, "Uh, it was decided two days ago... it might have been three."
So in the end... the Sheriff said a lot of words that truly didn't mean anything! For that "Breaking News" to really mean something, he should have said which agency was investigating, what they looked into, and what their findings were.
The Host and/or Guest Host should have pushed back on his claim, but they failed to do so!
This has left @ThePoliticalSpotlight's Kristopher H. Bilbrey with a need to investigate the questionable statements made by the Sheriff. Bilbrey has sent a "Request for Records" (under Indiana's Access to Public Records Act) to the Henry County government to determine what, if anything, actually happened with what the Sheriff was trying to say.
