The first ever "intersex" birth certificate has been given in New York City. What is 'intersex'? It's when someone has contradicting chromosomes and genitalia, and they have used 'unisex' to be more accurate then "male" or "female". These people would normally be called "hermaphrodites", and now they are able to be called "intersex". It is quite sad because they are expected to choose a certain procedure that will make them conform to one gender or the other, such as hormone conversion or adding a penis.
