Maxine Waters: Trump's gone too far. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) says that President Trump's Twitter attack on MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski was the last straw, repeating earlier assertions that Trump should be impeached.
In an interview with TMZ, Waters said that she could barely believe Trump could "stoop this low" as to attack Brzezinski's appearance.
"It is hard for me, even with what I know about him, to think that he could stoop this low," Waters told TMZ. "It is upsetting." "I've said over and over again that he did not deserve the presidency, and I've said over and over again that I do not honor him, I do not respect him." On Thursday, Trump accused Brzezinski of showing up "bleeding badly from a face-lift" at Mar-a-Lago and called the "Morning Joe" host "low I.Q." and "crazy." Trump's attacks on the MSNBC host were widely condemned by lawmakers in both parties.
Waters said the attack on Brzezinski was a step too far for Trump, whom Waters says has engaged in inappropriate behavior before.
"The tweet that we are witnessing today should confirm for all of those who had any doubts that this is not presidential material."
"He's gone too far, stepped way over the line," Waters continued. "His history, and his reputation on how he has dealt with women, should be enough for everybody to conclude he's not worthy."
Waters then pressed her colleagues to "connect the dots" in the investigating into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and move to impeach Trump.
"I've been saying a long time that he should be impeached," Waters said. "I believe that if we do the investigations in the way that they should be done, that we will connect the dots and find that he and his allies colluded with the Russians and with the Kremlins [sic] to undermine our democracy."
