"All the media covers is clickbait stuff that is solely to get views! They never cover the substantive, real issues!" This is true, but whose fault is this actually? The current mainstream theory is that it's the greedy, money grubbing media who is just trying to get every possible dollar they can, but is this really true? When you really think about it, what kind of content are people actually choosing to watch, read, or consume? Is it a story going into the details of cost-push inflation versus demand-pull inflation? A story breaking down the railroad strikers' demands? A story about a lesser known progressive candidate? Hell no LMAO. It's a video about something Kanye or Trump said, Biden falling off his bike, something that Jimmy Dore said about Sam Seder, or some other kind of clickbait drama. Now, is this completely on the media? Or is this also a problem that exists due to the demand & desires of the viewers for this very content? What we know is, wherever there is demand, there will always be supply to match that demand. In this case, the news will cover those stories, but clearly it's what people want to watch/read/consume. So how can you solely blame the media for this, when viewers are consciously choosing to watch a video about Kanye on Alex Jones' show, over that of one on the railroad strike, a four day work week, or how the Supreme Court is considering the "independent state legislature" theory, which would allow state legislatures to bypass everything and just vote their own slate of electors to vote how they want and completely undermine democracy?

Notice the non stop reddit posts on the Secular Talk subreddit discussing how his channel was stagnating/even declining in subscribers and views? This puts immense pressure on shows/media not only to maintain the status quo, but even to grow the channel! Then this creates a narrative, that the channel is "dying", even when it's getting 6 million views a month and has almost a million subscribers. It's absolutely ridiculous. We as people pressure these media organizations and people to chase views, otherwise it's "dying". We value money, fame, and clout, over actual substantive, quality content.

Now part of this still is on the media for chasing the clicks, but at least half, if not more than half of the blame goes onto the people who are the viewers watching the videos in the first place. The supply will MATCH the demand.

Then what can be done about this? Viewers need to become more conscious, and instead of clicking on the video about Kanye or Trump, click on videos talking about substantive issues, like the real economic causes of inflation, a discussion about a-priori vs a-posteriori knowledge, judicial review explanations, etc, etc.
