as posted by the channelConservative Trans youtuber Blaire White sent out a tweet that reads: "If the statement "trans women are women" were true, the statement "women are trans women" would be equally as true, but virtually no one thinks or says that. Just an observation."
This tweet was then deleted, as many people pointed out that the converse of a statement is not always true, for example the statement: "all thumbs are fingers" is true, while its converse "all fingers are thumbs" is NOT true. The converse of a statement is not always true. For example, in calculus the statement that if the limit of a series is not equal to zero, then the series diverges is TRUE. However, if the series diverges, then its limit is not equal to zero is FALSE.
Other ways to prove a statement include a contrapositive or contradiction, in the former you negate both the assumption and implication and flip the order, and if this is true it actually proves the original statement because they share the same truth value as the original conditional. In the latter, you assume p and the negation of q and deduce a contradiction, proving the original statement to be true, again being proven to be the same as the original statement, as you can check with truth tables.
Conservatives aren't the best at logic it seems.
