Kyle Rittenhouse says he will not vote for Trump
Conservative campaigner Kyle Rittenhouse says he will not vote for Donald Trump in November's US election because he thinks the ex-president is "bad" at protecting gun rights.
Instead of Trump, he plans to write in former Libertarian presidential nominee Ron Paul on the ballot.
"If you cannot be completely un-compromisable on the Second Amendment, I will not vote for you," he said on X, formerly Twitter. "We need champions for the Second Amendment or our rights would be eaten away and eroded each day."
This reaction illicited a strong response from Trump's fans, completely destroying him and calling him a traitor and a sellout. Lots of Trump fans also cursing him out, with well known trump supporter on twitter "Catturd" calling him out and blocking him. One user tweets: "I can’t believe this! Unfollowing him as well." Another states: "Don’t have to unfollow I never was. What a d****e. Stupid kid thinks he has a platform." Another: "You're either stupid or compromised. You deserve to be ostracized from the right."
There's so many of these there's an entire sea of them, with Trump fans raging at him. He also posted a graphic to his twitter feed which purported to show instances in which Trump has deviated from 2nd amendment worship and zealotry, at least some of which appears to be true, such as supporting raising age to purchase guns, banning bump stocks, and supporting red flag laws.
This goes to show that today's Republican party doesn't believe in any issues, but is rather a cult of trump, as Rittenhouse had to find out the hard way. However, Rittenhouse's turning on him appears to be bizarre, as it's not as if any of Trump's positions he doesn't like are new, so what had changed? Perhaps new information or a change of mind? The world may never know.
