During the debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, Trump repeated false claims that Haitian immigrants were "eating" the pets in Springfield Ohio, which has lead to mass outrage amongst Haitians, understandably so.
In the video you see, there is a community leader who is OUTRAGED, and this kind of energy is the exact kind of energy that you would likely see have a real impact on elections. Voter actions, energy, emotions, etc. are extremely important to gauge for elections.
The largest population of Haitians in the country are actually in Florida, what I like to call a "faux-swing state", as it's not really a swing state like the 7 current ones, but is kind of on the outskirts of being one. There are about over 500,000 Haitians living there, and presumably half or more are of voting age.
This could provide to be a boost to the campaign in the state of Florida, potentially leading to a surge in the state. Haitians likely vote mostly democratic regardless, however, this can still boost turnout of Haitian voters who didn't turn out prior. Haitians can be motivated to get their family members to get out and vote for example, and there may even be some republican voting Haitians who get flipped to go Democrat.
They appear to be mostly present in the Miami Dade county and the others mentioned in the video, which is where there was a random surge of Cubans voting for Trump in 2020. Could this offset that? Will those same Cuban non voters in 2016 who turned Trump in 2020 vote for him again?
Only time will tell... But certainly the strategy of Trump & Vance alienating large swaths of the population is not a good one...
