James Talarico has taken the lead over Texas senate candidate Ken Paxton in a new poll by 3 points, an internal poll conducted by the NRSC. He is down against Cornyn, and Jasmine Crockett has a 3 point larger deficit against both Paxton and Cornyn.

This appears to be the first poll in which there has been a flip, where Talarico is leading the race in the Texas Senate sweepstakes.

However, there has been much controversy in the race, as it was reported that Talarico referred to Collin Allred, the 2024 texas senate candidate, as a "mediocre black man".

Talarico apologized, and it was clear that what he was talking about was Allred's non-existent campaign in 2024.

Both sides of the race are contentious, with the Republican primary heating up between Paxton, Cornyn, and Hunt all duking it out.
