This clip was taken from Kosmographia Episode 12:

Kosmographia Ep012 The Randall Carlson Podcast with the Snake Brothers – Kyle and Russ, Normal Guy Mike and GCREX admin Bradley, from 10/28/19. RC and crew continue to introduce the conditions and difficulties for life and the planet during the Pleistocene-Holocene transition - popularly referred to as the Younger-Dryas Boundary. They continue to evaluate the extinction of the mega-mammals at the Younger-Dryas Boundary, bringing in 19th century scientific journal articles that spell out the findings and evaluations in direct terms – making it clear that the way the animals were killed and the sheer quantity of the remains puts the question beyond the possibility of human hunters and into the broad realm of global catastrophe.

Our planet now has 8 billion people living on it, yet during the Ice Age we only had a few million people. Why is their such a large disparity in human population between the glacial and interglacial ages? As we are all told, human civilization depends upon agriculture. During the Ice Age, CO2 levels were around 200ppm, which severely limits how much plants can grow. That, combined with the colder and possibly wetter climate, could all contribute to a lack of dependable food. Therefore, many people living in colder climates would have been forced to live as hunter gatherers. This would have been exceedingly dangerous in North America, with its wide variety of megafauna species. If humans were being hunted by saber tooth cats, bears, dire wolves, lions, and more, then the population would never get too large. Finally, we know that the planet experienced a series of catastrophes towards the end of the Pleistocene Epoch. These events were so powerful, we still see the remnants of the flooding all around us. Most humans living in North America would've been washed away during these incredible floods, with no trace left behind. If they survived the flooding, they wouldn't have stood much chance against the wide-spread wildfires, loss of habitat, lack of food, and "nuclear winter" following the Younger Dryas event at ~12,800 years ago.
