Two propositions relevant to geologically oriented discussion: large island in the Atlantic - outside the Mediterranean, remnant of continent / perished in Nature convulsion where whole island sank
What is known about ocean floors, we can rule out a sunken landmass in the middle of the Atlantic

Polynesia for example is over 1000 islands, but do you measure the land area, or whole complex?
Azores Plateau triple plate junction - subject to massive vertical movement due to glacial unloading
Island was only one part of ten kingdoms? Was Asia considered to be only Turkey?

Isostacy is vertical movement of the crust / eustacy is vertical rise/fall in sea level – glacial ice/melt
