But here's the question: If Atlantic storms were violent enough to require megalithic breakwater construction, why not just move inland? It’s the simpler solution, rather than building storm-resistant megastructures that require tremendous effort.
Why choose massive construction over relocation? Either something there was worth protecting, or the "hunter-gatherer" attribution is wrong. The scale of effort demands better explanation.
